Illustrator Led Schools’ Workshops
Come and be inspired by our exhibition and participate in an illustrator-led practical workshop.
Suitable for primary and secondary school groups
All our workshops are led by a professional illustrator, who will share their unique practice with the students. The aim is to enhance creative and art and design skills and all workshops can support your literacy and English teaching.
Available on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays for up to 30 students.
10am – 12.30pm or 12.30pm – 3pm
Cost: £150 per class, including gallery entry, gallery activities and teachers’ notes.
A 2.5 hour visit comprises 1 hour in the gallery and 1.5 hours practical workshop, using a variety of materials including inks, collage, drawing and watercolour with a choice of focus. Suitable for Key Stages 1 – 4:
Illustrators will lead students through the process of designing a unique character, either as a springboard for their own creative writing, or relating directly to a book.
Learn a range of paper engineering techniques and create an illustration that comes to life, on any theme of your choice.
Be guided through the process of sequential illustration to create instructions or a story with a structure.
Creating Mood and Atmosphere
Illustrators will help students create an illustration with the appropriate mood and atmosphere for any topic or text.
